The road after diagnosis was not easy. I struggled through excruciating pain, weight fluctuations, hair loss, moon face from long-term steroids, crushing fatigue, and sunlight sensitivity. I adjusted my work schedule, trying to make nights more manageable, but my body couldn't keep up. Eventually, my rheumatologist told me I could no longer work the floor. I was devastated. I had been preparing to transfer to the ER—my dream job.
I transitioned to working in infusion therapy. At first, I threw myself a pity party, grieving the loss of what I thought my career was supposed to be. But something unexpected happened—I fell in love with infusion. I got to know my patients, their lives, their struggles, and their wins. We connected. And that felt meaningful.
Still, workplace changes pushed me to start looking for something new. During that search, I stumbled upon a podcast about Nurse Coaching. I listened half-heartedly at first and dismissed it—it sounded too good to be true.
A year later, the same podcast found its way back to me. This time, it hit differently. I heard something deeper. I booked a discovery call.
And just like that, I knew. This was the path I was meant to walk.
